MettaliX

We make metal
the slow way.

mettaliX is a metal atelier in a converted foundry. We forge, cast, and raise furniture and objects in steel, brass, and bronze — one piece at a time, by hand, for a lifetime.

To make metal objects so honestly built that they need no explanation — only a room to sit in.

We believe furniture should outlast the trends that produced it. So we heat steel until it yields, we cast bronze thick enough to carry a century, and we leave every hammer mark where it lands. The result is work that ages the way metal should — slowly, visibly, and without apology.

Four metals, sourced to last.

Mild Steel

Hot-forged and blackened for frames and structure. Left un-lacquered so it deepens with age.

Solid Brass

Hand-formed for lighting and detailing. Spun, hammered, or drawn — never plated.

Cast Bronze

Sand-cast in our foundry for vessels and sculpture. Buried in patina salts until each piece finds its own colour.

Pure Copper

Hand-raised from single sheets for tableware. Planished smooth, left to develop a living finish.

From heat to wax, in five moves.

01

Draw

Each piece begins as a sketch on the foundry floor, scaled to the metal we have on hand.

02

Forge

Steel is heated to 1100°C and shaped over the anvil. Brass and copper are formed cold over stakes.

03

Join

Frames are forge-welded or riveted — never bolted. Joints are made to be visible, not hidden.

04

Patinate

Surfaces are flame-finished or buried in salts until the metal settles on its own character.

05

Seal

A single coat of natural wax. The metal is left to breathe and age — we never lacquer.

Made by hand

Every piece passes through a single smith.

Repaired for life

We fix anything we make, forever.

Closed-loop

Scrap is remelted, never wasted.

The hands behind the metal.
